On 4 April 2005, the Opening Ceremony of A.S.K. Andaman Ltd factory in Myeik, Myanmar was officiated by the State Peace and Development Regional Commander, H.E. Lt. General Maung Bo.

H.E. Lt. General Maung Bo was accompanied by several generals and ministers that included:

• Chairman, Tanintharyi Division Peace and Development Council, Commander, Coastal Region Command, H.E. Major General Ohn Myint
• Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, H.E. Brig. General Maung Maung Thein
• Minister of Transport, H.E. Major General Thein Swe
• Minister of Industry, H.E. U Aung Thoung
• Commander of Myeik Airforce Base, H.E. Major General Zin Yaw

An estimated total of 1,060 people consisting of offi cers from various Government departments, representatives from Non-Governmental Organisations, representatives from schools, Mascot staff , A.S.K. Andaman staff , business associates, suppliers and friends attended the event.

At the ceremony, the welcome address was delivered by Yasuhiro Nishida before U Maung Sitt gave his speech, thanking the generals and guests. Area Commander H.E. Major General Ohn Myint presented the closing speech before we proceeded with the unveiling of the granite plate by H.E. Lt. General Maung Bo. A blessing ceremony was held thereafter, followed by a short tour of the surimi plant.

Finally, our esteemed guests were given a tour of the laboratories equipped with the latest and state-of-the-art equipment.
