Texchem's Food Division runs fully integrated seafood operations
encompassing upstream and downstream activities.
The division has been in the seafood business since the inception of Seapack Food Sdn Bhd in 1990.
Since then, we have been actively increasing our activities.
The acquisitions of Sea Master Trading Sdn. Bhd. and Ocean Pioneer Food Sdn. Bhd. in 2003 positioned
us as one of the key producer and exporter of seafood in Malaysia.
In 2004, we entered into a joint venture with Mascot Industries Co Ltd in Myanmar to
establish A.S.K Andaman Limited. The collaboration paves the way for us to synergize
our strengths to tap on the fishery resources in Myanmar.
Our processing plants in Myanmar are strategically located in Myeik, which is within
the productive waters of the Andaman Sea where a wide variety of seafood may be harvested.
Our products range include an array of fresh, frozen and dried seafood consisting of shrimp,
squid, soft-shell crab, octopus, jellyfish, shellfish, cuttlefish; Surimi, Fishmeal and other
value added products. Our processing and storage facilities adhere to the strict hygiene
requirements of the food industry to ensure consistently high product quality at all times.
Our products are marketed in South East Asia, Middle East, and the European Union.
We are the operators of Malaysia's largest Japanese restaurant chain - Sushi King, which introduced "Kaiten Sushi"
(the novel method of presenting and serving sushi dishes on a revolving conveyor belt) to Malaysia.
Sushi King serves a wide range of affordable and wholesome Japanese cuisine made only from the freshest
ingredients. All our restaurants are located strategically at central business districts and shopping centers.
In 2007, we opened Miraku, a flagship up-market Japanese restaurant offering fine dining experience but at a reasonable price.
Through the years, we have built-up a reputation for being a provider of quality seafood.
