Sushi King operates under the license of Sushi Kin Sdn Bhd and is a member of the Texchem Group of Companies (Texchem Group). The Texchem Group comprises 39 subsidiaries in four core business areas - Industrial, Packaging, Family Care and Food Divisions.

Sushi Kin Sdn Bhd was established in 1995 and introduced the unique 'Kaiten Sushi' or 'revolving sushi' and quick service restaurant concept to Malaysia. The uniqueness of picking sushi at leisure from the revolving conveyor belt has attracted a wide variety of customers, even those who are not familiar with Japanese food. Sushi King is now the largest Japanese kaiten restaurant chain in Malaysia.

The Sushi King chain serves quality Japanese dishes in a cozy and comfortable ambience. From humble beginning in Kuala Lumpur, Sushi King has now spread its wings to major shopping centres throughout the Kedah, Penang, Perak, Pahang, Klang Valley, Seremban, Melaka, Johor, and East Malaysia. Sushi King currently has 63 restaurants nationwide and continues to expand.

Sushi King celebrated its 10th Year Anniversary in 2005 and in conjunction with this celebration, Sushi King launched its new tagline - "Healthy Good Taste" - which reflects Sushi King's emphasis on providing healthy food to customers.

Sushi King's focus on quality is reflected in our regular menu changes. Our ala carte menu consists of Sushi, Yakimono (grilled dishes), Agemono (fried dishes), Noodles, Donburi (rice bowl dishes), Japanese Curry, Sashimi, Salads and Kids Meals. The table mat menu consists of set meals menu. We change our a la carte and set meal menus twice a year by adding interesting new dishes specially created by our Japanese chef. This ensures that our customers experience something new each time they dine with us!

Our Sushi King Card Membership Programme helps us to understand our customers better and offers discounts to our members. Sushi King also circulates the Sushi King Bits and Bites Newsletter to our members regularly. The newsletter includes the latest news and information on new product launches, as well as extra information to encourage healthy eating habits. At present, we have over 90,000 members nationwide.

Sushi King grows its business by opening new restaurants in new locations, as well as regularly upgrading our existing restaurants.

  1. 2006 renovated restaurants at Subang Parade, Mahkota Parade, 1 Utama, Ampang and Jusco Kinta City.
  2. 2006 opened new restaurants at Queen's Park, AEON Tebrau, Berjaya Times Square, AEON Taman Equine, Auto-City, Centro Klang and Queensbay Mall.
  3. 2007 renovated restaurants at Sunway Pyramid and Tesco Puchong
  4. 2007 opened new restaurants at Batu Pahat, IKANO Power Centre, Selayang Mall and Metro Point Kajang
  5. 2008 opened new restaurants at Sooka Sentral, SohoKL, Alamanda, The Spring Kuching, Boulevard Mall Kuching, 1 Borneo Sabah, East Coast Mall Kuantan, City Mall Sabah, Tesco Kampar, AEON Ampang Utara 2 and AEON Bukit Indah Johor.
  6. 2009 opened new restaurants at Warisan Square Sabah, Kluang Mall Johor, Bintang Plaza Miri, Rapid Mall Teluk Intan and The Hills Kuching.
  7. 2010 opened new restaurants at Parkcity Mall Bintulu, Wetex Parade Muar, Sunway Carnival Penang, AEON Bandaraya Melaka, Landmark Central Kulim, AEON Mahkota Cheras & JayaOne Petaling Jaya.

In order to ensure the highest quality of food and food safety for our customers, Sushi King has implemented:

  1. ISO9001:2000 quality management system - Head Office & Tesco Puchong
  2. HACCP Netherlands Rva standards (food safety system) - Tesco Puchong, KLCC, Sunway, Mid Valley LG & Mid Valley Level 3.
  3. ISO 22000 - Tesco Puchong, KLCC, Sunway Pyramid, Mid Valley LG & Mid Valley Level 3.
