Founded in 1973, Texchem
Resources Bhd (TRB) began by trading in industrial chemicals,
packaging materials, plastics raw materials, dyestuffs, textile
auxiliaries and food products.
After listing on the Second Board of the
Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange in 1993, TRB's business grew tremendously.
This was achieved by diversifying TRB's operations into three
core areas: trading in industrial products and foodstuffs;
trading in consumer products; and manufacturing packaging
materials.
In 2000, TRB became an investment holding
company, to spearhead the streamlining of the activities of
its subsidiaries, and to focus on developing the Group's investment
and expansion plans. Simultaneously, TRB's trading operations,
assets, liabilities and subsidiaries were transferred to Texchem
Materials Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TRB.
In 2001, TRB was transferred to the Main
Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange. Later in the year,
TRB took over Fumakilla
Malaysia Berhad, further boosting its insecticide business.
